Become a Member of HASI – Hubbard Association of Scientologists International

The Hubbard Association of Scientologists (HAS) was the original corporation founded in 1954 by L. Ron Hubbard that managed all Scientology organizations. The HAS evolved from the Office of L. Ron Hubbard located in Phoenix, Arizona. It was re-incorporated later in the year as the Hubbard Association of Scientologists International (HASI) to correct the non-profit status omission in the corporate paperwork.

HASI was destroyed in 1977 as a consequence of the takeover by the „New Management“/US Government and replaced by a new fraudulent organization named IAS: a 3-letter-agency without any Hubbard!

On the 27. December 2009 HASI was newly founded by Andreas Gross, a professional auditor and writer (see his book series: “Scientology Saved from the Claws of the Deep State”).

10 May 1977: Revocation of Hubbard Association of Scientologists, International (HASI, Inc.)

HASI, Inc. owned all copyrights and trademarks related to Scientology. They had been assigned into perpetuity to the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), a division of HASI, Inc., by L. Ron Hubbard in several policy letters, notably several issued on 15 November 1958. This revocation likely put the intellectual property into the posession of the Church of Scientology of California (CSC), which becomes quite important later. (See 4 May 1978, below.)

DOCUMENT TITLE: Certificate of Revocation, HASI, Inc.
SUBJECT: Dissolution by revocation of the Articles of Incorporation for Hubbard Association of Scientologists International, Inc.
PARTIES: Corporation, Hubbard Association of Scientologists International, Inc.; Norton S. Karno, attorney; Sherman and Stephen Lenske, attorneys at Karno firm handling L. Ron Hubbard’s “business interests.”

BACKGROUND AND NOTES

HASI, Inc. owned all copyrights and trademarks related to Scientology. They had been assigned into perpetuity to the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), a division of HASI, Inc., by L. Ron Hubbard in several policy letters, notably several issued on 15 and 22 November 1958.

HCO was transferred to Church of Scientology of California (CSC) on or around 12 March 1966 according to a policy of that date. CSC was, itself, owned at the time by HASI, Inc. To get a full picture of this corporate set-up and the relationship of the intellectual property to it, and what became of it after this HASI revocation, please see our comparative chart Figure 6: Brief history of the corporate and intellectual property structure on page 187.

When this 10 May 1977 revocation of HASI, Inc.’s Articles of Incorporation was sent to the P.O. Box Address in Silver Spring, which had been the address for HASI, Inc. since the 1950s, it was returned to the Arizona Corporation Commission as “MOVED—NOT FORWARDABLE.” At the time, Sherman and Stephen Lenske, of the law firm of Norton S. Karno, were handling L. Ron Hubbard’s “business interests.”

CSC, however, survived as a California corporation, taking HCO, and the copyrights, with them. But within two months of this revocation, the Guardian Office in the United States will be raided on both coasts by the FBI (see doc AC) rendering it in such disarray, and under such duress, that CSC, and the intellectual property it owns, are left wholly unprotected.

15 November 1958 Blanket Assignment, L. Ron Hubbard to HCO, division of HASI, Inc.

L. Ron Hubbard makes a formal and unequivocal blanket transfer, into perpetuity, of all rights in all copyrights and trademarks to the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), a division of the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, International, Inc. of Arizona (HASI, Inc.). (HCO will become a division of Church of Scientology of California (CSC), both fully owned by HASI, Inc.)

DOCUMENT TITLE: Copyright and Trademark Assignment, L. Ron Hubbard to HCO

SUBJECT: L. Ron Hubbard’s blanket assignment into perpetuity of all copyrights and trademarks to the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), a division of the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, Inc. (HASI, Inc.) of Arizona

PARTIES: L. Ron Hubbard; HCO, HASI, Inc.

BACKGROUND AND NOTES

On 15 November 1958, in official policy publications of the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), L. Ron Hubbard permanently transferred, assigned, and bequeathed “all copyrights, marks and rights, by blanket assignment” to HCO, “the main office.” The main office of HCO was the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, Inc. (HASI, Inc.) of Arizona, as Hubbard made clear in later HCO policy issues.

Any assignment by the owner of such rights is unilateral, requiring no execution by the receiving party, and the relevant “HCO Policy Letters” (HCO PL) were registered with the Copyright Office, constituting a formal blanket transfer of the copyrights to HCO.

His blanket assignment was into perpetuity, as he made clear in a further statement on the subject in a second HCO PL of same date: “All this applies now and later. And it will become more important as time goes on.”

Prophetic words indeed considering what ensued, as is laid out in full in this book, with copious documentation.

It must be noted for full understanding of all that eventually happens with Hubbard’s intellectual property, and to the organization that owned them, just how the corporate relationships evolved, and how they stood by 1966. We’ve devised a brief summary and accompanying graphic chart for that purpose, and recommend you visit it before going further.

Here, though, are the quotes from the relevant HCO PLs:

HCO POLICY LETTER OF 15 NOVEMBER AD8 [1958]

THE SUBSTANCE AND FIRST DUTY OF HCO

… HCO must … first and foremost of all its duties, be the keeper of every seal, copyright, trademark, registered mark, master tape, master book copy, and master bulletin file … .

All this applies now and later. And it will become more important as time goes on.

… [A]ny trademark, registered mark, or patent for any sign, symbol, shield, device or design for Dianetics or Scientology or their organizations must be secured for HCO. All these are registered to L. Ron Hubbard and by blanket transfer are the property of HCO only.

And this:

HCO POLICY LETTER OF 15 NOVEMBER AD8 [1958]

Issue III

OUTSTANDING COPYRIGHTS AND MARKS

… [A]ll copyrights, marks and rights, by blanket assignment are the property and will remain the property of HCO … the main office. … [I]t becomes … the property of HCO with no further administrative action by reason of existing contracts and franchises.

A few years after the takeover of Scientology by the deep state, they even had enough power to get rid of HASI. The Hubbard Association of Scientologists International was set up by LRH to safeguard Scientology.
In 1977 – a few months after some lawyers claimed control of the works of LRH – they let HASI die:

10 May 1977: Revocation of Hubbard Association of Scientologists, International (HASI, Inc.)
HASI, Inc. owned all copyrights and trademarks related to Scientology. They had been assigned into perpetuity to the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), a division of HASI, Inc., by L. Ron Hubbard in several policy letters, notably several issued on 15 November 1958. This revocation had the intention to put the intellectual property into the possession of the new management.

On the 27. Dec. 2009 HASI was newly founded in Switzerland by Andreas Gross and friends to support the original goal of HASI per the 1954 statutes:

To establish a religious fellowship and association
for research into the spirit and the human soul
and the use and dissemination of Scientology materials.
