Ron Hubbard; HCO, HASI, Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On 15 November 1958, in official policy\npublications of the Hubbard Communications Office (HCO), L. Ron\nHubbard permanently transferred, assigned, and bequeathed “all\ncopyrights, marks and rights, by blanket assignment” to HCO,\n“the main office.” The main office of HCO was the Hubbard\nAssociation of Scientologists, Inc. (HASI, Inc.) of Arizona, as\nHubbard made clear in later HCO policy issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Any assignment by the owner of such rights is\nunilateral, requiring no execution by the receiving party, and the\nrelevant “HCO Policy Letters” (HCO PL) were registered with\nthe Copyright Office, constituting a formal blanket transfer of the\ncopyrights to HCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His blanket assignment was into perpetuity, as he\nmade clear in a further statement on the subject in a second HCO PL\nof same date: “All this applies now and later. And it will\nbecome more important as time goes on.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prophetic words indeed considering what ensued, as\nis laid out in full in this book, with copious documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It must be noted for full understanding of all\nthat eventually happens with Hubbard’s intellectual property, and to\nthe organization that owned them, just how the corporate\nrelationships evolved, and how they stood by 1966.
